Bali Blossoms opens in Kuta.

Flowers for the poor may sound a bit bizarre to many, but for I Putu Mahendra and Annemarie Bartels it is very positive way of helping the poor in east Bali. On Saturday the couple opened Bali Blossoms flowers shop on the sunset road in Kuta and pledged o donate the entire profits from the shop to the East Bali Poverty Project on an going basis.

The shop was opened jointly by Tracy, the General Manager of Amankila Resort which is located in East Bali and David Booth the founder of the poverty project.
Mr. Booth was handed a cheque for 5 million to start the fund. Putu and Annemarie,who have lived in Monaco in Europe for sometime became aware of the problems of the area when driving through the region to visit the Amankila resort through Amed Beach and Seraya. The contrast of the luxurious resort and the poverty stricken region hit home and the couple then decided to do what they could to help.

Both Putu and Annemarie love flowers so a decision was made to establish the exclusive Bali Blossoms flowers with the International standard service while at the same time helping the poor.
